Maua court jails man for 10 years for attempted murder

Mugambi was convicted of attempting to murder Joseph Mwamba on May 10, 2023, in Igembe South Sub-County, Meru County, in violation of Section 220(a) of the Penal Code.

"Mugambi was found guilty of attempting to murder Joseph Mwamba on May 10, 2023, in Igembe South Sub-County, Meru County, contrary to Section 220(a) of the Penal Code," the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) stated on Tuesday. 

During the trial, prosecutor Kelvin Gitonga presented six witnesses who testified that Mugambi attacked Mwamba with a panga, causing serious neck and shoulder injuries and severing his right wrist. 

In his ruling Magistrate Muchiri sentenced Mugambi to 10 years imprisonment.
