Sol Fest, an annual fete curated by Sauti Sol and Sol Generation, has announced a number of artists and ensembles who will grace the stage with live performances for this year's second edition.

The chart-topping quartet made the news public, referring to the chosen renown hitmakers as the "Sol Fest class of 2022.

Nairobi's hottest drill crew 'Buruklyn Boyz,' multiple award-winning star 'Octopizzo,' multitalented group 'Matata,' singer-rapper 'Fena Gitu,' and songstress Nadia Mukami are among those who will be performing.

Matata, which consists of five members (Marcus Ojiambo, Ken Kimathi, Richie Mathu, Freddie Milanya, and Festus Mwenda), recently released their debut album titled 'Super Morio,' which is Kenyan slang for 'ghetto superhero.'

Following a successful run of hit singles and videos, the 15-track album spans Gengetone and Afro-pop, with a special collaboration from Sauti Sol.

In the same vein, Kenyan rapper and philanthropist Henry Ohanga, also known as Octopizzo, released a new project titled 'Lamu Nights,' a ten-track compilation featuring various talents such as Burukyn Boyz.

Meanwhile, as revellers eagerly await the upcoming 'Sol Fest' extravaganza, early bird and regular couple tickets have already sold out.

The annual festival will be held on December 17, 2022, at the Fox Drive - Inn on Thika Road.
