Marsabit: Bori residents protest over poor service delivery

Residents of Bori in Moyale Constituency, Marsabit County, have staged demonstrations demanding urgent government intervention to improve basic services in the area.

The residents blocked the Moyale-Marsabit highway on Monday, disrupting transport and other activities along the busy route.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the protesters cited inadequate access to clean and safe water, poor roads and lack of employment opportunities among the challenges facing the area.

They also raised concerns over inadequate electricity supply and healthcare services, saying the challenges have continued to affect their livelihoods.

The residents further complained about poor mobile network coverage, which they say is hampering economic activities, particularly in the health and education sectors.

Locals are also calling on the government to grant Bori Sub-County status, arguing that the move would improve access to government services and accelerate development in the area.

The residents say they want urgent action to address their concerns, rather than more promises.
