The Kenya Police Service says it is aware of a viral video that captured the horrific incident where a gang of boda boda riders were caught sexually assaulting a female driver on the Wangari Maathai road, Nairobi.

Terming the video as “distasteful”, the police, in a statement posted on their social media platforms, said they identified some of the people and are hunting them down.

“Our attention has been drawn to a distasteful video circulating on social media of boda boda riders attacking a motorist after an alleged road traffic accident. The rowdy gang went ahead and stripped the lady off her clothes,” reads the statement.

“The matter is under active investigations. We have since identified some of the perpetrators and they will be presented before a court of law upon completion of investigations.”

In the undated video, the woman can be heard screaming as the men undress her as others order that she be removed from inside the car.

The video caused an uproar on social media on Monday afternoon, with scores calling for the regulation of the Boda Boda sector to tame such incidents.
