Manhunt for four thugs after content creator Omollo dies during robbery in Juja

While initial social media reports erroneously claimed the student was from JKUAT, official police reports have clarified his identity and institution as they work to clear up widespread misinformation surrounding the incident.

According to a police report filed under OB 11/01/09/2026 at the Juja Farm Police Station, the incident occurred within a thicket at Kigwe Farm in Juja South, a remote area characterised by abandoned quarries and located far from local settlements.

The deceased, a third-year TUK student, had joined three friends, Daniel Mutie Kivuva, 22, Sunday Odhiambo, 23, and university students Biphon Mobisa Ondimu, 21, of Kenyatta University, and Ann Wanjiku, 19, of JKUAT for a content shooting picnic.

The group had walked from Juja township, where they reside and arrived at the scenic but isolated location at around 4:30 PM.

At approximately 6:00 PM, while the students were filming digital content, they were suddenly ambushed by four men armed with knives who ordered them to surrender their mobile phones.

In the ensuing panic, three of the students managed to flee into the surrounding bushes.

Bundi was less fortunate, plunging approximately 40 metres off the edge of the unfenced open quarry pit.

He hit a rock at the bottom and sustained catastrophic head injuries alongside fractures to both legs, dying instantly.

The attackers stole a Samsung A16 phone from Ann Wanjiku before fleeing into the thickets.

Bundi's iPhone was recovered next to his body, while Daniel Mutie sustained a sprained arm from a fall during the escape.

Juja Police Commander Isaac Kombo confirmed that a combined team of officers, including the Sub-County Police Commander, Juja DCI, and Crime Scene Investigators (CSI), visited the scene following a report by a local resident.

Detectives processed the area and retrieved Bundi's body under difficult conditions before transferring it to the General Kago Morgue in Thika for preservation ahead of an autopsy.

Commander Kombo stated that even though the thugs managed to escape the scene, detectives are aggressively pursuing all possible leads and are confident that arrests will be made soon, as the case remains under active investigation.
