Man ‘tries to kill woman’ by pushing her off 4th-floor balcony in Kahawa Wendani

A youthful man was on Monday, October 22 arraigned at the Thika Law Courts for attempted murder after he allegedly pushed his female neighbour off the 4th floor balcony of an apartment in Kahawa Wendani, Ruiru Sub-County.
The suspect, Peter Nyauma, who pleaded not guilty to attempted murder charge, appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Anne Maina.
It is alleged that on September 29, 2018 Nyauma pushed Annah Naliaka out of her rental house’s balcony with the intention to kill her. It remains unclear why the suspect did that.
Naliaka, who suffered fractures after falling on the ground, was rushed to hospital by neighbours.
Nyauma fled the scene, but was arrested on October 19.
He was denied bail after the prosecution requested he be detained since the victim is still in hospital.
Nyauma’s case will be mentioned on October 30.
