Man kills lover over  Ksh.270 electricity bill in Limuru

Police officers drawn from the Tigoni Police Station are pursuing a middle-aged man accused of slashing his lover to death on Wednesday.

On Wednesday night, residents of Gikabu village in Limuru braved the late night chill as they went through the village in a fine-tooth-comb searching for the suspect.

The man is said to have committed the heinous crime after disagreeing with his lover about a Ksh.270 electricity bill.

The two who have been living in rented room within the village had earlier on agreed to split their property and go separate ways after one of them lost a job.

The deceased, witnesses said, appeared agitated accusing the suspect of stealing her sufuria.

The suspect is said to have slashed the deceased with a panga several times before fleeing.

The Area Chief confirmed the incident saying the body of the deceased had been moved to the Uplands Funeral Home in Nyambari.

The deceased woman’s child was handed to the villagers until the family of the deceased is contacted.
