Man injured following buffalo attack in Lamu County

A 27-year-old man is nursing serious injuries after he was attacked by a buffalo in Lamu County.

Mpungani location Chief Mutakina Hussein said the incident happened in Amu Island.

Aboud Hajj was on his way home from his work station in Kizingo area when the buffalo came charging.

“”He was in the company of his colleagues. They had left Kizingo for Kipungani when the incident happened,” Hussein told Citizen Digital.

Hussein added that the man’s colleagues managed to escape into the forest.

Locals attacked the buffalo with crude weapons, killing it on the spot.

Meanwhile, the injured man was rushed to King Fahad Referral Hospital for treatment.
