The State of Alabama carried  out the execution of a 41-year-old man by lethal injection at Holman Correctional Facility on Friday, August 13, 2026, for the December 2021 kidnapping, defilement, and murder of a five-year-old girl, Kamarie Holland.

Jeremy Tremaine Williams voluntarily accelerated his own death sentence by waiving his standard decades long appellate rights and dismissing his legal counsel, which prompted Alabama Governor Kay Ivey to schedule the execution.

The execution stems from a highly publicised case where the victim’s mother, Kristy Siple, trafficked her young daughter to Williams in exchange for roughly Ksh. 300,000 ($2,500).

Williams took the child from her Columbus, Georgia home across state lines to a vacant house in Phenix City, Alabama, where he forced her to ingest methamphetamine, filmed himself torturing and defiling her, and ultimately strangled her to death before continuing to abuse her corpse.

Investigators later recovered the child's body in the basement of the abandoned property, and during the April 2024 trial, Russell County jurors wept as prosecutors presented the video evidence recorded by Williams himself.

Williams was ultimately handed four separate death sentences for capital murder, human trafficking, and abuse of a corpse, while Siple pleaded guilty to federal child sex trafficking charges and is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence.

Law enforcement officials noted that Williams actively chose to bypass his legal appeals to expedite his execution rather than serve a life sentence in a maximum security prison population due to the severe nature of his crimes against a minor.
