A middle-aged man was on Wednesday evening electrocuted to
death in the Ulanda area of Awendo, Migori County.
Confirming the incident, Awendo sub-county police commander Mathias
Pombo said the deceased had just dropped
his daughter at a nearby secondary school and was going back home when he
was electrocuted.
Pombo said an electricity pole on the power line with wires
carrying live current fell down and unfortunately the deceased got in contact
with the live wire and he died on the spot.
The sub-county police commander said the body of the
deceased has been moved to the mortuary pending police investigations.
Pombo appealed to the members of the public and the family
of the deceased to stay calm as investigations continue.
