Major estates in Nairobi to experience six-day water shortage

The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company has announced interruption of water supply from Monday, March 14, 2016 6am to Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 6pm.

In a statement sent to media houses on Sunday, the company said that the interruption is meant to facilitate the maintenance and rehabilitation works along the Sasumua-Kabete water transmission pipeline in the Aberdares forest to enhance water supply to the city.

The areas that will face water interruption include estates along Waiyaki Way, Naivasha road, Kangemi, Lavington, Westlands, Parklands, MP Shah Hospital, Aga Khan Hospital and ILRI, Upper Hill, Kilimani, Nairobi Hospital, Kenyatta Hospital and Community.

University of Nairobi main campus hall of residence, Upper and Lower Campuses, University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University Parklands law campuses are also expected to experience water shortage during this period.

Others are estates around Kenyatta market, Kibera, Jamhuri, Ngando, Riruta Satellite, Dagoretti Corner, Kawangware, areas along Langata, Madaraka Estate, Mbagathi and Ngong Road and Karen
