Litein Boys High School in Bureti sub county has been closed indefinitely after students went on rampage last night.

According to Litein location chief Moses Mutai, the students went on rampage to protest over what they termed as high handedness of the school administration among other complaints.

Mutai said the students damaged several school properties including classroom and dormitory window panes, computers and assaulted some school watchmen.

He said the decision to close the school was arrived at by the school Board of Management and the officials from the Ministry of Education.

The chief revealed that the boys were forced to spend their night at the school playground and in the morning they were ordered to vacate the school premises.

Recently, Kipsigis Girls High School, Kericho Tea, Chemamul and Kericho High School were closed following cases of student unrest.
