Linda Mwananchi censures President Ruto as it touts a Sifuna presidency

Speaking at Jacaranda grounds where the rally made its last stop, Saiya Governor James Orengo said that President Ruto has failed to run the nation to its full potential and does not deserve a second term at the helm of the nation.

He said that the befitting candidate to overthrow him is Nairobi Senator and Linda Mwananchi don Edwin Sifuna, stating that he is well equipped to steer the nation to prosperity.

"Nataka nitangaze ya kwamba tutakuwa pamoja kwa meza. Sifuna na mimi tuone ya kwamba tumekomboa Kenya yetu. We are saying that Kasongo must go home and he should accept Sifuna, Babu Owino and Orengo to work together as Linda Mwananchi," he said.

On his part, Senator Sifuna scoffed at all initiatives formulated under Ruto's leadership, saying that the affordable housing programme has propped up many white elephants without benefitting any Kenyan.

"On housing, Ruto does not understand us. The slums in Nairobi are not a housing problem, they are an income problem. If you give these people money in their pockets they will find decent houses to live in," Sifuna said.

"You cannot say you are building houses to finish slums. Tell us which slums you have finished because you have built houses."

Vowing to ensure that President Ruto will not secure a re-election in the 2027 General Election, Sifuna claimed that Ruto has been the biggest negator of devolution, a policy introduced to ensure fair allocation of resources to counties to propel development.

"Being in the Senate I have learnt one thing. He is the biggest enemy of democracy. Next year all that has been lost will be returned by God's will. You are going to be the first one-term President in the republic of Kenya," he said.

Trans-Nzoia governor George Natembeya expressed optimism that Sifuna will defeat President Ruto in the 2027 polls, asserting that the united opposition will present a single candidate whom they believe is formidable to oust the Kenya Kwanza leadership.

"Our votes will not be stolen. On August 10th 2027 and they steal our votes, if they do not announce Sifuna as president, we will march to State House. We will not use the Supreme Court," Natembeya said.

"We will bring you one candidate who will face President Ruto, and the opposition will not be divided."

Other leaders echoing the same sentiments include Embakasi East MP and Nairobi governorship hopeful Babu Owino, Senators Godfrey Osotsi (Vihiga) and Richard Onyonka (Kisii), among others.
