The Linda Mwananchi faction has notified the National Police Service of the scheduled public rallies in Homa-Bay County on August 16, 2026, as they call for tight security during the event.

The faction led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Siaya Governor James Orengo and Embakasi Babu Owino is set to hold a public political rally as part of its countrywide campaigns.

Homa Bay County Linda Mwananchi coordinator Samwel Nyauke presented the notification document to Homa-Bay County police Commander Lawrence Koilem at his office. The commander acknowledged and certified the receipt of the notice.

Nyauke appealed to their supporters to observe peace during the event and avoid any form of violence to give the security agencies an easy time.

Speaking to the press after presenting the notification, Clifford Obiero, a member of the Linda Mwananchi brigade, said that they have been assured by police of heightened security, calling on the attendees to maintain peace regardless of their political affiliations.

The police commander assured the team of maximum security during the rallies and warned them against any form of violence.
