Speaking to Citizen Digital, head Coach Anne Aluoch says her players must put in more effort as they seek victory in their second consecutive derby following their disappointing result against Kibera.
"Against Kayole is a derby, it comes at the moment when we lost our previous match, and we cannot afford to lose two games consecutively." She said.
Aluoch believes Mathare need to be more clinical in attack despite showing good form, with missed chances contributing to their 1-0 defeat in the previous match.
"Everything is going on well but we are not clinical enough, we are not using our chances, that is why we were punished previously. If you don't use your chances, the opponent will punish you on the other side." She said.
The coach says the technical bench has been working on the team's attacking weaknesses ahead of the clash with Kayole, with better finishing expected to be key to their chances of collecting maximum points.
Mathare United Women were also beaten by Kayole Starlets the last time the two sides met.
However, Aluoch says her team has prepared well for the latest encounter and is determined to avoid another defeat against their derby rivals.
