Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has said he is ready to answer to any questions on his involvement in the fracas that was witnessed at the Bomas of Kenya on August 15, 2022.

When Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairperson Wafula Chebukati was about to announce William Ruto as winner in Presidential election, Ledama and some leaders were seen on the podium where fracas erupted.

The Narok Senator now says he is ready to respond to accusations if the Kenya Kwanza government would like to charge him for involvement in the fracas.

“I am responsible for any action that I take. If this government would like to initiate commission of inquiry, Bring it on baby. Let us be very factual,” he said on JKL show after Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei questioned him.

Ledama said this after challenging the criminal justice system in Kenya, following the withdrawal of a case against Public Service CS nominee Aisha Jumwa by the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

"Our criminal justice system is being remote-controlled because the DCI investigates... When the person who is supposed to prosecute, the DPP, goes out and throws these charges that the DCI has taken so much time to be able to investigate it really beats the purpose of having a criminal justice system," said Ledama.

"It will be uncouth for us to continue clapping when charges are dropped, when State funds have been used to investigate and when we in Parliament have taken per diem to travel to those counties to be able to go and investigate,” he added.
