Lawyer Otiende Amollo retains Rarieda parliamentary seat

Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo has secured another term in office after retaining his seat in the 2022 polls.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) tallying showed that Otiende won the contest with 37, 676 votes.
His top competitor Netto Adhola of the United Democratic Movement (UDM) party came second after garnering 23,266 votes.
Elsewhere Millie Odhiambo, the member of parliament for Suba North secured her third term in office as she garnered 27,130 votes.
Her closest rival James Akali of the Federal party garnered 18,151 votes.
Another parliamentary seat winner Rosa Buyu, who ran for the Kisumu West MP seat on the ODM ticket, was elected after she secured 39,615 votes to defeat the incumbent Olago Aluoch, who got 19,045.
