Lamu Muslims unite for Eid celebrations

In Lamu, the spirit of Eid ul-Fitr echoed through the air as Muslims gathered in various mosques and at the Pamba Roho Ground in Lamu Island's Mkomani Ward to mark the end of Ramadan.

The festive occasion was not only a time of prayer and celebration, but also a poignant moment of unity and solidarity.

Following the Eid prayers, Sheikh Mahmud Mau expressed his joy at the display of unity witnessed among Muslims globally during this Eid celebration.

"This Eid has demonstrated unity. Let us embrace this unity and strive for peace and cohesion within our communities," Sheikh Mahmud Mau remarked.

Amidst the jubilant atmosphere, Lamu County Fisheries Board Chair, Fuad Sheyumbe, took the opportunity to urge the Muslim community to perpetuate the values of peace, love and unity beyond the festivities.
