The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has pushed the deadline for university and college placement applications until further notice.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by its CEO, Mercy Wahome, the move is intended to ensure that all eligible students have enough time to submit their applications and avoid any potential disadvantages in the placement process.

In its statement, the KUCCPS clarified key aspects of the application process.

Notably, all students participating in the current application cycle are considered first-time applicants, as school-level applications have been discontinued.

According to KUCCPS, this change aims to streamline the process and ensure equal opportunities for all applicants.

"With government service payments now managed through the eCitizen platform, the validation process for KUCCPS applications may be delayed," KUCCPS said in the statement.

"To prevent complications, applicants are urged to avoid making double payments."

According to the KUCCPS, in order to ensure fairness, placement applications will be processed once all students have submitted their course choices.

Following the initial placement process, the Service announced two opportunities for revision.

According to the statement, these changes will allow students who were not initially placed or were unable to secure their desired courses to reapply.
