Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has now suspended Peter Mbugua, General Manager for Operations and Maintenance to pave way for investigations into alleged questionable education credentials.

Following the decision by the KPC Board, Mbugua has been sent packing immediately and will remain suspended while receiving half pay with benefits based on the KPC Staff Rules and Regulations.

According to the board chaired by John Ngumi, the suspension of the senior manager will enable the Board Human Resources Committee to look into the allegations being raised over his academic certificates.

According to the board, the academic documents provided by Mbugua to support his professional certificates during his hiring are allegedly forgeries and the institutions that he claimed to have worked for do not exist.

The board further accuses the embattled manager of failing to submit other mandatory requirements, including his work permit details for his USA stint.

The move by the KPC board to suspend Engineer Peter Mbugua was made on Monday after adopting the HR Committee report recommending his suspension until the probe into the claims are addressed.

Mbugua will, on the meanwhile, be replaced by current Operations Manager Derek Okova.
