KPA eye playoffs berth after perfect weekend

The Dockers started their campaign with an 86-70 victory over giants Equity Dumas on Friday before edging Umoja 64-60 on Saturday. They completed a perfect weekend with an 86-71 win over Stanbic Shields on Sunday.

KPA head coach Robert Mugabe was pleased with his team’s performance but admitted there is still work to be done ahead of the playoffs.

“The performance was good. We are still improving, there were a lot of things we still need to work on to be able to compete in the playoffs. By the time we get to the playoffs, we should have managed to handle at least 70 percent of the challenges we have as a team,” said Mugabe.

“So far, so good. I’m happy with the performance, and I believe there is more to come.”

KPA who finished second in the regular season will be facing Strathmore Blades in the quarterfinals playoffs this weekend in the three games series.  The Dockers managed to secure 20 victories, losing only two, with both defeats coming against reigning champions and unbeaten Nairobi City Thunder.

The three wins further underline KPA’s strong finish to the regular season as they seek to carry their momentum into the playoffs.
