Kenya Ports Authority head coach Samuel Ocholla is elated
with his team’s performance after a dominant display over the weekend in the
National Women’s Basketball Premier League.
The Dockers thrashed Lady Titans 101-38 at Makande
Gymnasium, underlining their superiority as the first leg of the season nears
its conclusion.
“The players are performing very well. We planned to start
strongly, and we’ve managed to organize ourselves well. I’m pleased that with
every game, our efficiency keeps improving, which will really help us going
forward as we prepare for the second leg of the league,” he said.
We are left with two matches against Zetech and USIU, which
we will also use to start trying out different systems as we get ready for the
second leg. We believe we will be ready to kick off at any time within this
month,” said Ocholla.
The soft-spoken tactician has also challenged his players to
maintain focus as they approach the business end of the first leg.
“We just need to keep pushing and keep working. Everyone
knows what our target is, and each player is preparing to improve from where
they were before. In training, the morale is high, and everyone is focused and
ready for the upcoming games,” he added.
The emphatic win saw KPA extend their unbeaten run,
maintaining a perfect record after nine matches. The league leaders now sit on
18 points, firmly at the top of the standings as they edge closer to wrapping
up the first leg.
