Kenya Ports
Authority (KPA) head coach Robert Mugabe has praised his side’s growing
cohesion after a hard-fought 99-90 win over Equity Dumas in a Kenya Men’s
Basketball Premier League clash played at Nyayo Gymnasium over the weekend.
Mugabe noted
that the team’s chemistry is steadily improving, with players beginning to
better understand each other on the court.
“The chemistry
is improving and everything is coming together well. We just need to stay
focused, stick to our game plan, and continue building on what we’ve been
working on because there’s clear progress,” he said.
The KPA
tactician highlighted improvements in key areas such as free throws, shooting
efficiency, and ball control, while acknowledging there is still room for
growth.
“Our free throws
are improving and we’re taking better care of the ball, though there’s still a
lot we need to work on. Most importantly, getting that win away from home is a big
positive for us,” he added.
The victory
extends Kenya Ports Authority’s impressive run in the league, sending them to
the top of the standings with 11 points from six matches, having registered
five wins and just one loss.
Meanwhile,
Equity Dumas dropped to third place with 10 points from seven games, managing
three wins against four defeats as the battle for top positions intensifies.
