Defending champions Kenya Ports Authority maintained their dominant run in the Kenya National Women’s Basketball Premier League after racking up two convincing wins on the road over the weekend.

The dockers thrashed sophomores Th3 Swish 77-59 on Saturday before producing an even more emphatic display to crush newcomers Dream Girls 98-55 at Ulinzi Sports Complex on Sunday.

Speaking after the matches, head coach Samuel Ocholla credited the results to solid preparation and discipline on both ends of the court.

We had good preparations in Nairobi for about a week. We organized ourselves well both offensively and defensively, which helped us stay disciplined in all areas of the game.

We identified two key areas that, once improved, made the game easier for us. The players understood their roles and showed great commitment, and that is why we managed to secure important wins,” said Ocholla.

He added: “So far, we have won three crucial games, and we are now focusing on preparing well for the upcoming fixtures.”

Elsewhere, Zetech Sparks head coach Job Munene remained optimistic despite his side’s narrow loss to Stanbic Aces in another league clash.

“We are focusing on a few key areas and specific plays, while also encouraging the players to keep improving. As we continue to make adjustments, I believe they will perform even better.

“It’s important that we keep pushing, work together as a team, and motivate each other to give our best. We still have room for improvement, but we are steadily progressing and getting better with each game,” said Munene.

Despite the defeat, Zetech moved third place on the standings with 11 points, having recorded four wins and three losses so far this season.
