Lady Titans head coach Moses Musebe is optimistic his side can end their challenging debut campaign on a positive note despite suffering another setback in the National Women's Basketball Premier League.
The Kawangware-based
outfit fell 56-47 to UoN Dynamites at the USIU Grounds in Nairobi over the
weekend, extending their difficult run in the top-flight league.
Musebe
attributed the defeat to a lapse in concentration during the final quarter,
while also citing injuries to key players and the absence of several squad
members as factors that have hampered the team's performances this season.
"We relaxed
in the fourth quarter and I really didn't keep an eye on it. Some of their
guards were really good.
“One of the
things making us struggle as a team is injuries to some of our major players,
and a few players were also unavailable,” he said.
“Overall, we are
trying to get locked in for the upcoming games and make key adjustments in how
we approach the games, especially in reading plays that work for us. We are
hoping that we can win our next few games," said Musebe.
Despite the
defeat, the Lady Titans coach believes the team can still salvage pride by
improving their game management and tactical execution in the remaining
fixtures.
The newcomers have endured a tough first season in the top tier, managing just two wins from 17 matches while suffering 15 defeats. They have accumulated 19 points and trail league leaders Stanbic Aces by 13 points with the regular season nearing its conclusion.
