Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) head coach Robert Mugabe is confident his side can maintain its impressive National Men's Basketball Premier League form despite a six-week competitive break, as the Dockers prepare for a crucial double-header in Nairobi this weekend.

KPA will face Strathmore Blades on Saturday before taking on Umoja on Sunday at the Nyayo National Stadium Gymnasium.

Despite the lengthy layoff, Mugabe believes his team is well-prepared and focused on sustaining its strong run in the title race.

"The team is ready, and we are focused on winning. We have remained consistent in what we want to achieve. We play aggressively, defend well and execute our systems effectively," said Mugabe.

"The matches will also help us prepare for our upcoming tough fixture against defending champions and unbeaten Nairobi City Thunder in Mombasa. So far, everything is going well. We have no injuries, everyone is fit, and we are pushing to achieve our ultimate goal of winning the title this year."

KPA have enjoyed an impressive campaign, collecting 15 points from eight matches. The former champions have won seven of their eight games, suffering just one defeat, and remain among the leading contenders for the league crown.

The weekend fixtures will provide an important opportunity for the Dockers to shake off any rust following their extended break while building momentum ahead of their highly anticipated clash against Nairobi City Thunder.

With a fully fit squad and their championship ambitions firmly intact, KPA will be targeting maximum points from their Nairobi assignments.
