Kitui: 5 killed after lorry overturns near Matulu shopping centre

Five people have been confirmed dead following an accident involving a lorry that lost control along Ikutha-Kasaala Road in Kitui County.
According to a police report, a Mitsubishi Canter ferrying traders to Kasaala Market overturned past Mutulu Shopping Centre, killing five people instantly.
Further, 21 people sustained injuries and were rushed to Ikutha Level IV Hospital for medical treatment.
The bodies of the deceased, one man and four women, were transferred to Mutomo Level IV Subcounty Hospital Mortuary.
"Efforts to pull the vehicle are still underway as we are waiting for a breakdown to pull the lorry," read part of the police report.
