Residents of Usoma area in Kisumu West have called on the government to addresse the deplorable condition of Nkurumah Road, which has been rendered impassable.

The road, which runs from the old airport route to the Kenya Pipeline Company, is in a state disrepair, causing significant inconvenience.

Those doing business along the route report incurring heavy losses due to frequent vehicle repairs necessitated by the poor road conditions.

The residents are now calling on the national government to act swiftly even as they vowed to continue protesting.

Protestors marched to the Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) offices on Tuesday to demand immediate action.

In a similar vein, bodaboda riders have asked local leaders to advocate for the road's repair on their behalf.

KENHA officials responded by promising to carry out minor repairs in the interim, noting that a comprehensive reconstruction project is slated for September.
