Kisii: One-Year-Old Baby found Abandoned Outside Children’s Home

Staff at the Keumbu Children's home found the child wrapped – and placed next to a travelling bag.

The Children’s home Director Rev. Abel Onchari confirmed the incident.

“It is true that a child was this morning found abandoned at our gates. Next to the child was a bag full of baby clothes,” said Rev Onchari.

The baby was taken to Keumbu police station where a report was made. She was later admitted to the Children's home.

Rev. Onchari expressed concern over the rising cases of children being abandoned in the area.

“Our facility has received at least abandoned 10 children in the past one month, in this area alone,” he said.  

Rev Onchari has appealed to the police to expeditiously investigate the matter – and help trace parents of the 10 children.
