Kenya delivered a commanding performance at the Generali Berlin Half Marathon 2026 held on Sunday in Berlin, with Andrea Kiptoo clinching victory in the men’s race.

Kiptoo clocked 59:11 to win the race, narrowly edging compatriot Dennis Kipkemoi, who finished second with 59:14.

The win was decided in the closing stages, where Kiptoo broke away from the lead group to seal a hard-fought victory.

Germany’s Amanal Petros finished third in 59:22, just 11 seconds behind the leading pair.

South Sudan’s Dominic Lobalu and France’s Etienne Daguinos completed the top five in a tightly contested race.

Kiptoo’s victory continues his impressive 2026 season, following a second-place finish at the Naples Half Marathon where he set a personal best of 59:27.

His latest performance confirms his status among Kenya’s emerging long-distance talents.

Elsewhere, Kenya’s Robert Kiprop Koech placed seventh, reinforcing the country’s strong presence in the elite field.

In the women’s race, Ethiopia dominated the podium led by Likina Amebaw, who won in 1:05:07. She was followed by compatriots Fataw Zeray and Alemaddis Eyayu.

Kenya’s dominance in the men’s race once again highlighted the country’s depth in distance running, with Kiptoo’s victory marking a significant statement on the global stage.
