Kibera Blackstars will be looking to extend their impressive run of form when they take on Fortune Sacco in a crucial National Super League encounter this weekend in Nairobi.

‎The two sides are separated by just a single point in the standings, setting up what promises to be a tightly contested fixture.

Kibera currently sit seventh with 48 points, while Fortune Sacco occupy sixth place with 49, making Saturday’s clash pivotal in the race for a higher finish on the table.

‎Speaking to Citizen Digital ahead of the match, Kibera Blackstars head coach Iddi Badi acknowledged the challenge awaiting his team, noting that their opponents have been in fine form in recent weeks.

‎"Both teams are enjoying a good run, looking at the table, it has not changed for three weeks. Fortune Sacco are placed sixth on the log and we are seventh, we respect them but we are aiming for three points," said Badi.

Despite this, Badi expressed confidence in his squad’s readiness to rise to the occasion and secure maximum points at home.

‎A key area of concern for Kibera will be containing Fortune Sacco’s lethal forward Collins Mwangi, who currently tops the league’s scoring charts. However, Badi remains optimistic, insisting that his defensive unit is well organized and capable of neutralizing the danger posed by the prolific striker.

‎"He is the league's top scorer and we have to respect him. However, I have a good defence that I believe will contain him, it is all about a tactical plan." Badi added.

‎With both teams eager to strengthen their positions in the league standings, the encounter is expected to deliver high intensity and competitive football. Kibera Blackstars will also have the advantage of playing in front of their home supporters at GEMS Cambridge Grounds, a factor they will hope to capitalise on.

‎Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM on Saturday, with fans anticipating an exciting showdown between two evenly matched sides chasing crucial points in the NSL campaign
