Police in Kiambu County on Tuesday, August 22 night arrested two suspects transporting bhang with an estimated street value of over Ksh 1 million along Karuri Road.

Kiambu County Police Commander, Adiel Nyange, said that a second car that was also suspected to have been ferrying a similar cargo managed to escape the police dragnet.

“It took three hours for six officers to arrange the 1,800 stones of bhang and another 131kg package that will now be used as exhibits in court,” said Mr Nyange.

The police confirmed that the drug had originated from Kisii and was destined for Kasarani in Nairobi where the business owner is being trailed.

The substance was packed inside the boot and the rear sit of the car.

The Commander warned all those trafficking drugs and selling illicit brew that their days are numbered.

The two suspects were arraigned in Kiambu Court on Wednesday, August 23 morning.
