Kenyan trio advance to Commonwealth Games one-mile final

Kenya's trio of Teresia Gateri, Naomi Korir and
Rosemary Longisa have booked their places in the women's one-mile final at the
Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
The 2021 World Under-20 champion Gateri produced a
commanding run to win a star-studded Heat One in 4mins 33.11seconds, edging
home favourite Jessica Hull of Great Britain, who clocked 4mins 34.20seconds.
Former World Mixed Relay silver medallist Naomi
Korir finished fourth in Heat Two in 4:31.80, with the National Collegiate
Athletic Association (NCAA) 1,500m champion Rosemary Longisa crossing fifth in
4:32.02, as both secured qualification for Saturday's final.
The women's one-mile final is scheduled for Saturday
at Scotstoun Stadium.
