Zack The Great has been crowned the Red Bull Dance Your Style Kenya champion after an electrifying national finals event at the Tsavo Ballroom, KICC on 24 May 2026.

The national finals brought together 16 of Kenya's top street dancers in a series of intense head-to-head battles, with Zack The Great emerging victorious after a thrilling final showdown against first runner-up King of Smiles.

In the Red Bull Dance Your Style format, the crowd holds the power to judge — spectators vote by holding up wrist bands with red and blue LED lights after each battle. All urban dance styles are accepted except break dancing.

Speaking after his win, Zack The Great said being crowned champion was "something truly special," adding that sharing the stage with so many gifted dancers was an honour on its own.

"It honestly feels like an answered prayer and a huge blessing," he said.

Zack The Great is now set to represent Kenya at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals scheduled for 24 October 2026 in Zurich, Switzerland. Kenya will be among 51 countries participating in this year's global competition, with the national champion earning an all-expenses-paid trip to the prestigious world showdown.

On the challenge ahead, Zack acknowledged that adapting to a completely new environment and atmosphere would be his biggest test.

"It will be my first time competing on such a major international stage, and the energy will definitely be different from what I'm used to," he said. "Since I've never been to Zurich before, understanding the crowd, the vibe, and the overall experience will take some adjustment. But I also see that challenge as an opportunity to grow, evolve and push myself even further as a dancer."

Zack The Great started dancing more than 10 years ago and began taking it professionally four years ago. His style draws from a combination of street vibes, hiphop and popping, with much of his growth coming from dance ciphers, street sessions and learning from different dancers and communities around him.

This year's national finals also featured appearances from globally recognised dancers including MT Pop — the 2024 Red Bull Dance Your Style world champion; Luwam — a finalist at the 2024 world finals; Luciano — the 2025 Netherlands champion and global finalist; and Verb — a two-time South Africa champion (2022 and 2023) and global finalist (2023). The group also gave workshops to Kenya's dance community during their stay in Nairobi, reinforcing the competition's stature as a global platform while highlighting Kenya's rapidly growing street dance culture.

The 2026 edition marked the sixth Kenyan edition of the global competition. It officially launched in March under the energetic hosting of Azeezah Hashim, with qualifying rounds held in Mombasa and Nairobi that spotlighted some of the country's most exciting emerging street dance talent, culminating in the grand finale at KICC.
