Defending KPL champions Kenya Police FC stretched their winless run in 2026 to three matches, and seven overall this season, after settling for a 1-1 draw against Nairobi United at the Police Sacco Stadium.

It was also a frustrating afternoon for new Police head coach Nicholas Muyoti, who failed to get one over his former side, Naibois.

Ironically, both goals came from Kenya Police players.

Jacques Ndecke headed into his own net in the 69th minute to hand Nairobi United the lead, before Yves Koutiama rescued a point for Police in the 83rd minute, finishing off a clean assist from Edward Omondi for his second goal in as many matches.

The Monday afternoon clash between Kenya Police FC and Nairobi United was a tight, tactical affair, with both sides battling hard in midfield.

The first half’s best chance came when Shami Mwinyi Kibwana unleashed a powerful free kick that smashed against the post, keeping the score level.

Police were forced into an early substitution before halftime, with Ally Awesu replaced by Eric Zakayo due to injury.

The deadlock was broken in the 69th minute in unfortunate fashion for Police, as Jacques Ndecke deflected Ovella Ochieng’s low cross into his own net.

Just when Nairobi United looked set to claim all three points, Police fought back late. In the 82nd minute, Yves Koutiama finished neatly from a precise cross by Edward Omondi, securing a 1-1 draw.

The draw lifted Police FC above Murang’a Seal into fifth place on 25 points from 16 matches, while Nairobi United climbed to seventh with 24 points from 15 games, leapfrogging Tusker.
