The qualifiers will take place on July 18, 2026. Registration opens on July 23 and closes on July 15, 2026, through the federation’s digital platforms. Only players aged 16 and above are eligible.
A total of 26 slots are up for grabs as gamers compete across seven titles: eFootball, Rocket League, NBA2K, Clash Royale, MLBB, iRacing and Counter Strike 2. Winners will earn the right to represent Kenya at the global showpiece scheduled for December 3–10, 2026.
Three disciplines will feature women’s categories: eFootball (1v1), Clash Royale (1v1), and MLBB (5v5), while the rest will remain open categories. The Global Esports Games, organized by the Global Esports Federation, is one of the sport’s premier international competitions, bringing together more than 180 member federations worldwide.
Locally, the qualifiers will be overseen by Esports Kenya, with Competitions Director Timothy Kiarie urging players to register early and prepare all required documents.
He stressed that the selection process will be conducted with fairness and integrity, while also calling on players to secure key documents such as passports and, where necessary, parental consent for minors.
Kiarie noted that administrative issues should not derail any player’s chance of competing at the highest level, adding that the qualifiers mark the first step toward the global stage.
“The Global Esports Games are the pinnacle of our esports calendar, and we assure all participants that the highest standards of professionalism and integrity shall be applied in the selection.
"We also urge players to secure crucial documentation like passports and parental consent (for minors) in time so that their chances of representing the nation are not affected by off-the-pitch challenges,” said Kiarie.
