Kenya’s national futsal team has landed in Namibia ahead of their
CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations 2026 Morocco qualification campaign.
Kenya face Namibia in a two-legged first-round tie, one of
18 teams competing for seven spots at the continental finals, where hosts and
defending champions, Morocco, await.
The first leg takes place in Namibia on January 23, with the
return leg in Nairobi scheduled for January 28. The aggregate winner will
advance to the second and decisive qualification round.
Other first-round match-ups include Cape Verde vs Senegal,
Cameroon vs South Sudan, and Zimbabwe vs Tanzania, highlighting the tough
competition ahead.
Kenya’s focus will be on a solid away result, with defensive
discipline, sharp finishing and home support expected to be key.
A strong showing at home in Nairobi will then determine if
they progress to face Libya in February’s second-round fixtures, slated for February
3-4, with the return leg set for either February 7 or 8.
Only the winners will book a place at the AFCON finals in
Morocco.
Full First Round Fixtures:
Cape Verde/Senegal vs Egypt
Cameroon/South Sudan vs Angola
Zimbabwe/Tanzania vs Cote d’Ivoire
