According to the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), the affected areas are located at Kedong Ranch, where heavy rainfall has led to hazardous driving conditions.
KeNHA noted that response teams are already on the ground working to restore normal traffic flow.
“The Authority is currently working to reopen the affected sections of the road,” KeNHA said in a statement.
Motorists have been urged to avoid flooded sections entirely and comply with guidance from authorities on site.
“Motorists are advised to avoid driving through flooded areas and to strictly follow instructions from police officers and traffic marshals to prevent being swept away or getting stuck in silt deposits,” KeNHA cautioned.
The agency further warned that ongoing heavy rains continue to pose risks, particularly along the stretch between Naivasha ICD and Suswa Ranch.
“Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution when driving along various sections of the road,” the statement added.
Drivers who have not yet begun their journeys have been encouraged to consider alternative routes, including the Narok–Njoro–Nakuru (B18) road.
KeNHA assured the public that efforts are ongoing to resolve the situation. “KeNHA assures all road users that it is working around the clock to restore normal traffic flow and ensure the safety of motorists,” the statement said.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation as rains persist across parts of the region.
