KEMSA, WHO hail Kenya's Health CS nominee Deborah Mlongo

KEMSA termed Deborah as an astute professional with over 15 years of experience as a medical doctor, specialising in internal medicine and infectious diseases.
“She has proven leadership skills and is goal-oriented, seeking to offer comprehensive, quality care through consultancy, leadership, and capacity building. She has taken on Kenya’s critical assignments in the health sector, including addressing outbreakprone infections,” KEMSA stated, expressing eagerness to work with the new CS when she assumes office.
On its part, the World Health Organisation (WHO) Kenya chapter hailed Deborah for the work she has done at the helm of the organisations’ local chapter.
“Dr Barasa has been with WHO for 4 years, building emergency response & preparedness capacity in the African region. She will work tirelessly towards Health For All the people of Kenya,” it stated.
On July 19, President Ruto appointed Deborah to take over the Health Ministry, a position previously held by Susan Nakhumicha.
The position. Fell vacant after President Ruto dismissed members of his first Cabinet in July.
