KCB, Kabras set up Kenya Cup final rematch

Defending champions KCB RFC will face a familiar final hurdle in their quest for a fourth successive Kenya Cup title after they floored Menengai Oilers 35-17 in the semis on Saturday.

Kabras Sugar got the job done in the other semis clash when they outclassed Strathmore Leos 39-19 and will now face the holders in the final for the third year straight.

Shujaa Winger Jacob Ojee scored three tries to give the KCB the win while Derrick Ashiundu starred for Kabras with a hat-trick to propel to the final.

Darwin Mukidza scored three penalties to top up the three tries from Ojee with substitute Michael Wanjala adding the fourth try.

Fijian Timoci Senaite and South African Dukisa Ntabeni added to the other three tries for Kabras after Ashiundu hat trick.

Cioach Curtis Olago’s KCB lost 30-23 against Kabras this season and it will be their fourth finals appearance since 2016 while it will be Dominique Habimana charges sixth appearance since promotion.

KCB defeated Kabras 23-15 in last year’s final.
