KCB Rugby Club have been crowned the 2026 Impala Floodlit champions after delivering an excellent  47-7 victory over Kenya Harlequin in the final played at Impala Club on Saturday.
The result ended a two-year wait for the prestigious title and securing their record 11th crown.

Sheldon Kahi extended the advantage with another try before Wahinya added the extras, pushing KCB to a 14-0 lead.

Randy Wamah then produced a brilliant try to stretch KCB's lead to 26-7, with Wahinya adding the conversion to make it 28-7 at the break.
The second half saw KCB maintain their intensity, keeping Quins at bay while continuing to exploit attacking opportunities.
The bankers added three more tries to seal an emphatic victory and underline their superiority in the final.
Vincent Onyala was among the second-half try scorers, crossing the line to extend KCB's advantage to 38-7.
Stephen Osumba converted to take the score to 40-7 before the bankers added two more tries, with Osumba converting the final effort to complete the 47-7 rout.
Speaking after the victory, KCB Rugby head coach Andrew Amonde noted:
"This victory is a reflection of the hard work, commitment and belief within this squad. We came into the tournament with a clear objective, and the players have delivered by staying focused on our game plan and executing when it mattered most.
"Winning the Floodlit title for the 11th time is a proud moment for the club, and I commend the entire team for the character they have shown. We will celebrate this achievement, but our focus now shifts to the next challenge.”
KCB captain Winston Macharia said the triumph was a testament to the team's unity and determination to bring the trophy back to the club.
"We wanted this title, and everyone in the squad understood what it meant to the club and our supporters. The boys put in the work throughout the tournament, and today we showed what we are capable of when we play for one another.
"Winning by this margin against a quality side like Quins is a great feeling, and we are grateful for the support we have received. This gives us confidence as we prepare for the Kenya Cup season," said Macharia.
With the Floodlit title secured, KCB will now turn their attention to the 2026/2027 Kenya Cup season, which is scheduled to kick off on November 21, 2026.
The bankers will open their campaign against defending champions Kabras Sugar at the ASK Showground in Kakamega, setting the stage for another highly competitive season.
