The Kenya Civil Aviation
Authority (KCAA) has announced a leadership transition following the
exit of its Director General, Emile Arao, whose contract officially came to an
end on April 22, 2026.
In a statement issued by Board
Chair Brown M.M. Ondego, the authority
confirmed that Arao’s tenure concluded upon completion of his contract,
bringing to a close a chapter marked by his stewardship of Kenya’s civil
aviation sector.
The board expressed its appreciation for his service and
contributions during his time at the helm.
Stepping into the cockpit, at least
for now, is Nicholas Bodo, who has been
appointed Acting Director General.
His role, the board noted, will be to provide leadership
continuity as the Authority initiates the process of recruiting a substantive
head.
“The recruitment process will be conducted through an open,
transparent, and competitive framework in line with established governance
procedures,” stated Mr. Ondego.
“The Authority remains fully operational and committed to its
mandate of ensuring safe, secure, and efficient civil aviation services.
Stakeholders are assured of uninterrupted service delivery during this
transition period.”
