KCA University has unveiled a five-year Alumni Engagement Strategic Plan aimed at boosting graduate employment, strengthening mentorship, and unlocking the economic potential of its more than 40,000 alumni networks.

The strategy, launched during the university’s 2026 Alumni Reunion in Nairobi under the theme “Back to Where It All Began,” outlines ambitious targets to be achieved by 2030, including an 85 percent graduate employment rate, 10,000 active mentorship connections, 50 regional and diaspora alumni chapters, and KES 50 million annually in alumni-driven income.

Vice Chancellor and CEO Isaiah I.C. Wakindiki said the university is shifting from traditional alumni engagement to a results-oriented model focused on employability, professional growth, and innovation.

“This is a defining shift in how we engage our alumni from passive affiliation to active economic and professional contribution,” said Prof. Wakindiki.

The plan is anchored on five pillars: lifecycle engagement, employability integration, community infrastructure, alumni advancement, and data and governance.

As part of the initiative, the university also launched an Alumni Mentorship Programme designed to connect graduates with career opportunities and industry networks.

Several private-sector firms partnered with the university to support the programme. Uber Technologies will support mobility during alumni events, while BrighterMonday Kenya will run a Career Corner linking graduates to jobs and recruitment networks. AAR Healthcare Kenya provided free health screenings during the event.

The reunion featured business networking sessions, mentorship sign-ups, academic advisory services, and cohort meet-ups, before culminating in the official launch of the strategic plan, the Alumni Association AGM, and a gala dinner.
