Police in Kasarani are pursuing Chief Inspector Agnes Ndanu, a senior officer at Matungulu division police headquarters, who is accused of pushing her 25-year-old girlfriend, Nicole Omondi, from the sixth floor of an apartment building in Nairobi’s Thome Estate.

Speaking to Citizen TV, Kasarani police station DCIO Aloyce Mboya confirmed that Ndanu's high-ranking status in the National Police Service (NPS) would not shield her from facing justice.

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has also been briefed on the incident to oversee the case involving the active-duty officer.

The victim, who is currently hospitalized at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) awaiting critical backbone surgery, recounted the ordeal that led to the fall.

Omondi indicated that the confrontation ensued after a night out when the duo was walking home, and a male friend said hello to her with signs of showing interest in her.

This allegedly did not go down well with Ndanu. While at home, it is alleged, Ndanu went through her mobile phone, found text messages from a male acquaintance, and accused her of cheating.

According to Nicole, the female police officer hit her repeatedly on the head with a glass bottle before dragging her to the balcony and forcing her over the edge.

Crime scene investigators who processed the Thome Estate apartment unit recovered blood-stained bedding and shattered glass that match the victim's account of a severe struggle.

Phone records obtained by detectives also revealed a chilling timeline; Nicole had managed to place a brief distress call to her father during the assault.

When her father called back, Ndanu allegedly answered the phone, callously stated she was "disciplining" Nicole, and hung up just moments before the 25-year-old was thrown from the building.

Medical personnel at KNH confirmed that while the victim survived the initial plunge because her fall was cushioned by an iron sheet roof and razor wire, the impact caused severe spinal damage, leaving her paralysed from the waist down.

Public outrage over the incident has mounted following reports that Ndanu secretly visited the hospital to see Nicole earlier in the week, only to flee the facility when she was recognized.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on Ndanu's whereabouts to report immediately to the Kasarani DCI office or the nearest police station.
