Detectives from Kasarani Police Station are pursuing the
employer of 35-year-old nanny Susan Wanjiku Nyambura, who was brutally murdered
just two days after securing a job in the Cieko area of Kasarani.
Susan is believed to have been killed between May 11 and 12,
but her family only learnt of her death on Thursday after officers from the
DCI's Fingerprint Department at City Mortuary contacted them to identify her
body.
The prime suspect remains at large even as a post-mortem
examination confirms that Susan died from severe blunt force trauma to the
head.
At City Mortuary, detectives were able to establish her
identity through fingerprint records, leading to the heartbreaking discovery
that her body had been lying unclaimed at the Nairobi funeral home for weeks.
"Tulipata hii information kutoka kwa DCI tukaambiwa
tukuje tuconfirm mwili kama ni sister yetu,” said Sister to Susan Eunice
Nyambura said.
Another Susan's Sister Ann Wambui Nyambura added, “She's my
older sister. Nilipata information jana she's dead. Tumepata alichapwa,
aligongwa kichwa, so hiyo ndio ripoti tumepata kutoka kwa post-mortem. So
aliuliwa."
Susan's lifeless body was discovered on May 12, 2026, at the
entrance of her employer's residence.
Inside the apartment where she had lived for only two days,
investigators encountered a disturbing scene.
A solitary photograph marked by a red stain on the lips
stood out among the evidence, while the house appeared deserted, with clothes
strewn across the floor.
The state of the residence painted a troubling picture and
raised further questions about the circumstances surrounding her death.
Neighbours say that on the day Susan was killed, the suspect
asked one of them to look after her child before mysteriously disappearing.
"Last month nilikuwa harakati yangu ya kazi, mimi ni
security officer. Nikaskia kuna mjamaa alikuwa na pikipiki amebeba customer.
Huyo mama akamuita kwa ploti. Hatukujua ni nini. Tukaskia jamaa akisema hapana
mimi sitaweza. All over sudden tukaskia kuna mama anapiga nduru. Tukakuja
kuangalia tukapata mwanadada ameaga dunia. Msichana hata hakukua amemaliza siku
mbili kwa nyumba. Ikawa alikuwa ameuliwa na bosi wake,” said a neighbour whose
identity is withheld.
Detectives say the suspect's phone was last traced to
Makueni County.
Witnesses believe she may be using disguises, including
hijabs, to evade arrest.
"Na akirudi anarudi akiwa amevaa buibui, sasa huwezi
jua. Mkifungua gate muone mtu amevaa buibui, mjue ni yeye, sasa mjue mko kwa
hatari,” the neighbour added.
As detectives intensify the manhunt, Susan's family
continues to demand justice.
"This lady, it's not the first time kufanya hizi
sarakasi. The other day amedunga bwanake na kisu. Kuna kijana amekaa naye
wamekuwa wakifurugana. Kuna mfanyakazi alikaa siku mbili akarushiwa vitu nje.
Ni mtu amekuwa na drama mingi sana kwa hii area,” stated the neighbour.
Nyambura added, "Kulingana na sisi hatujaridhika juu
mwenye kufanya hii kitendo hajashikwa. Hatuwezi zika mwili before tumuone yeye
mwenyewe na justice imepatikana. Hakuna vile tunaendelea na mazishi."
