The Karen Hospital Medical Training College has been ranked the best Kenya Registered Nursing (KRN) college nationally after producing the top three students in the recently released Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) examinations.

The college presented 40 students for the examinations, with all of them successfully completing the assessment.

According to the institution, 16 students attained Distinctions, 20 achieved Credits while four obtained Passes, making it the college’s best performance since its establishment in 2013.

Principal Martin Mungai attributed the performance to the commitment and discipline of the students, dedication by faculty members and the institution’s focus on quality training.

“Having the top three students nationally come from our institution is an exceptional accomplishment and one that we are immensely proud of,” Mr. Mungai said.

The college’s Chief Executive Officer, Juliet Gikonyo, said the results demonstrated the institution’s investment in healthcare education.

She said the performance would strengthen the college’s role in training healthcare professionals with technical skills, professionalism and integrity.

Chairperson of The Karen Hospital, Dr. Betty Gikonyo, described the results as a historic milestone, noting that all 40 candidates who sat the examinations were successful.

“These outstanding results reflect strong leadership, excellent teaching, hard work, discipline, commitment and teamwork,” she said.

The Karen Hospital Medical Training College was established in 2013 and offers a Diploma in Community Health Nursing, Diploma in Peri-operative Theatre Technology, Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery – Cardiology, Higher Diploma in Cardiopulmonary Perfusion and certificates in Community Heart Health Promotion.
