A new Infotrak survey has ranked a presidential ticket comprising Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna as the most preferred United Opposition pairing ahead of the 2027 General Election.
According to the poll, the Kalonzo-Sifuna ticket garnered 23
per cent support, emerging ahead of other proposed combinations involving key
opposition figures.
A Kalonzo and former Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i ticket
ranked second with 16 per cent support, while a ticket led by Matiang'i with
Kalonzo as running mate followed closely at 15 per cent.
The least preferred among the leading combinations was a
Fred Matiang'i and Democracy for Citizens (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua ticket,
which attracted 5 per cent support.
At the same time, the survey also gauged public preference
for the United Opposition's presidential flagbearer, with Kalonzo edging Matiang'i
by a narrow margin.
Kalonzo emerged as the most preferred presidential candidate
with 27 per cent support, just one percentage point ahead of Matiang'i, who
polled 26 per cent.
Sifuna, who is part of the Linda Mwananchi faction, ranked
third with 19 per cent, while former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua came
fourth with 9 per cent support.
