The panel reviewing the appeal case filed by Kakamega High School against Musingu High School football team has requested more time to examine the case before delivering its verdict.

This follows the submission of documentary evidence by Kakamega High teachers, led by Chief Principal Julius Mambili, alleging that Musingu forged documents to falsify the ages of some of its players.

Some members of the panel told Citizen Digital that they now need to inspect and verify the submitted evidence before making a decision, especially considering that football fans from both schools are eagerly awaiting the outcome.

"We cannot rush to make a decision that is unverified, we will have to do thorough investigations and if need be involve the DCI to scrutinize the evidence tabled before us."

Musingu also filed a counter-complaint, claiming that one Kakamega High School player used documents that did not belong to him impersonating another student.

The two rival schools clashed in the Kakamega County Secondary Schools Sports Association Term Two Games football semi-finals, where Musingu emerged victorious with a 5-4 win through post-match penalty shootouts.

The verdict is expected to be out before July 9 when the Western Regional Games are expected to kick-off in Mumias, Kakamega County.
