Kabras RFC head coach Carlos Katywa says his side is ready
for a tougher test against a much-improved KCB when the two teams meet in the
Kenya Cup final on Saturday at the ASK Kakamega Showgrounds.
Katywa noted that KCB have grown into a more balanced and
competitive outfit, blending youth and experience, and pushed Kabras to the
limit during their 10-10 draw in the regular season before rain disrupted the
match.
“KCB this season is very different from the one we played in
the regular season last season before the rain interrupted the game. They had
really pushed us to the limit and despite the draw, you could see a very solid
side in them, so we have to be well prepared,” said Katywa.
Kabras are chasing a fourth consecutive Kenya Cup title, but
the coach emphasized that discipline and execution will be key against their
rivals.
“When facing such a team you have to be perfect in every
department, that is what we are training for at the moment. But I can assure
our fans who have been with us forever that the game will be interesting to
watch, he added.
Having topped the standings, Kabras will enjoy home advantage in Kakamega, with Katywa expressing confidence that his side can capitalize on the support and retain the title.
