Kabras RFC head coach Carlos Kaytwa has his eyes firmly set on clinching a record-extending fifth Kenya Cup title when they face familiar foes KCB in the final set for May 9 at the ASK Showground in Kakamega.

The Millers are not ready to relinquish their grip on the Cup as the Bankers seek to finally get one up on them after carrying the nearly men tag in the last four successive showdowns between the two arch-rivals.

To set up the eternal final, that has defined the modern era of Kenyan rugby, Kabras powered past Black Blad with a convincing 48-12 in the semi final while KCB thrashed Nondies Script 52-7 in the other last four encounter.

“We are putting in the hard work required to make sure we are ready for the final against very tough opponents. Everyone is happy to have reached the final, and the most important moment is for us to retain it,” said Kaytwa.

Despite the good run against KCB in the previous finals, Kaytwa warned that KCB has enough tools to finally pull an upset as he urged his charges to prepare to “fight until the last drop of sweat.”

“They have a very strong team. They have been rebuilding slowly without making noise, and for sure, they are a very formidable side to face. It will be an exciting clash for both sides, and the fans will enjoy it,” he added.

Having topped in the regular season, Kabras were given the privilege of hosting the final in Kakamega.

Kabrasa has transformed the ASK Showground into an intimidating "fortress", establishing a near-impenetrable home record, something Kaytwa is banking on in their fifth title pursuit.

“We want to make our fans proud. They have always supported us in every game we have played at ASK Showground. With their support, we have done it before, and we want to do it again and again,” he warned.
